Active Power and Generosity
Will power must be balanced with conscience for safe inner development and expression of power.
Many executives are working harder than ever. In fact, researchers report Indian execs are among the hardest working on the planet. Yet, despite all of their hard work, success and fulfilment are not necessarily guaranteed.
Long work hours can lead to fatigue and a lower threshold of stress tolerance. The negative side-effects of this phenomenon can be found in many areas of professional and family life.
Resilience
When do stress and fatigue generally take their greatest toll? Far more executives fail at the last stage of their projects than in the beginning, or at the midway point. Many people start strong but their will power runs short and their vitality drops just before the finish line. The hallmark of athletic champions is their end-game performance, not how they started.
When people are low on vitality and will power, it is difficult to be effective at work, or in home life. It is also not easy to be pleasant when you have a low battery. Speed in achieving your goals and the quality of your work are directly proportional to the levels of your vitality and the force of your will.
Will power is essential for resilience, the fighting spirit to achieve goals and ambition. It is at the pinnacle of the Triangle of Success and Fulfilment.
Without will power, it is hard to concentrate or muster stamina to complete projects. In interpersonal relationships, people who explode with emotions, or hold resentments, may be able to trace their personality style to a lack of will, among other things.
Will power must be balanced with conscience for safe inner development and expression of power. Therefore, maximum results come from balancing development of the power of the will with the conscience of the heart.
Activating both the will and the heart cultivates greater generosity and compassion. And, it is easier for creative intelligence to flow. This balanced development results in not only successful completion of projects, but also fulfilment that comes from warm relationships with clients, superiors, co-workers, family members, and friends.
How can you activate the will, heart and creative intelligence in just a few minutes?
I created this fast, effective way to build all three elements of the Triangle for Success and Fulfilment.
The Synchronized Breathing MethodTM is a five-minute exercise that releases stress and calms the emotions and mind. By activating the energy centres regulating emotional, mental and spiritual energies and faculties, executives and others are able to revitalise quickly, think more clearly, and enjoy more harmonious relationships. This pulls people out of the past and pushes them to the future.
Synchronized Breathing MethodTM
- Sit in a comfortable position with your back straight and vertical; your feet flat on the floor. Close your eyes
- Inhale fully and rapidly through your nose as you tilt your head backwards, so you can look up at the ceiling while simultaneously breathing deeply and inflating the abdomen
- Immediately exhale fully and rapidly through your mouth as you bow your head down while compressing your abdomen
- Repeat steps 2 and 3, 10 to 15 times
- Now, just relax with your head vertical and breathe slowly. Concentrate on the top-of-the-head, mid-brow and heart power centres simultaneously while breathing slowly. Do this for 30 seconds.
- Follow this procedure 3 times, repeating steps 2 to 5
- You can do this 3 times weekly, or daily, as required.
Note: This technique is not recommended for pregnant women, or those with neck injuries, high blood pressure, migraine, or severe heart conditions. As for others, it is best to consult your physician before performing this exercise.
